Hi all and thanks for visiting;
Highlights this week:
- 3rd time on an ocean kayak
- 1st time falling off the kayak
- 10km ride – and survived!!
- new level or soreness…
Yesterday saw the 3rd time my backside had ever sat on a ocean kayak and the first time I managed to fall into the warm (not) Melbourne bay waters. I did manage to get back on the boat and finish the training session and although my legs didnt work for a while afterwards it was great to know I could actually have a chance at completing the 13km race in December. The wind was up yesterday which made it tough but I am told that Lorne could be much harder so now is no time to back off the training.
My weeks training this last week was a bit mixed up as usual:
- Monday – basketball
- Tuesday stretch and some Swiss Ball work
- Wednesday – nothing – rest
- Thursday – 2 laps of the ‘tan’ then basketball
- Friday – some Swiss Ball work
- Saturday – 10km kayak session – quick massage that arvo from the great Anna G.
- Sunday – 20km bike ride and stretch
This week will see my testing start with our brilliant Dietitian/Sports Scientist – Emma Morris who will no doubt have something to say about my chocolate intake… This week I am also going to design my weights and Swiss Ball program now that I have an idea what is required for kayaking so Stay Tuned… (sorry) for that next week!!
Have a great week.
